Docent Information

The Center for Puppetry Arts Museum Docents are trained volunteers who help inspire our patrons to explore and discover the history and magic of puppetry through the puppets on display at the Center.

The Center’s Docents are adults of all ages, walks of life, and educational backgrounds who enjoy puppetry, learning new things, and sharing that knowledge with others. Docents greet museum guests, lead tours, assist with special events, and act as ambassadors of the Center.

Volunteer of the Year

The Center for Puppetry Arts would also like to thank the 2018 Volunteers of the Year, Brad Ayres and Ray the Chicken for their outstanding service.

Brad became a volunteer in 2017, graduated the 9-week Docent class in March 2017, and was named Rookie of the Year in October 2017. Brad has contributed nearly 200 hours of service to the Center, and has helped as a Museum Docent and with many special events such as String Fling and the Ghastly Ghathering.

Brad always brings a bag of puppets with him when he comes to volunteer, which is how the staff and the patrons of the Center have grown to know and love Ray the Chicken!  Needless to say, Brad and Ray have certainly strengthened the mission of the Center for Puppetry Arts and we are proud to have them as a part of our family.

Thank you Brad & Ray!
