Puppet Invention Workshop
Teaching Tolerance Through International Puppetry
International Puppet Presentation


Puppet Invention Workshop

Recommended for ages 5 and up.
Learn about five different types of puppets and the role of puppetry around the world. Create an exciting puppet of your own and learn basic puppet manipulation. The instructor will present a demonstration of puppets from around the world. This one- to two-hour workshop can be tailored to any group or classroom theme, and can be designed so it meets Georgia QCC/Performance Standards. Please call 404.881.5136 to schedule.
Fee: $6.00 - $12.00 per student (some puppet designs may be higher) plus mileage. Minimum 50 students. Groups only.

Cultural Awareness through International Puppetry

Recommended for ages 12 and up.
Strengthen cultural awareness and appreciation of diversity through puppetry. Travel the world by experiencing a demonstration featuring replicas and authentic puppets from around the globe. Students build their own replica puppet. Workshops last approximately an hour and a half. Meets Georgia QCC/Performance Standards. (List available upon request.) Please call 404.881.5136 to schedule.

International Puppet Presentation

Recommended for ages 12 and up.
A unique learning experience for groups wanting an in-depth look at the rich culture of puppetry. Learn about many different types of puppet traditions from around the world including China, India, Japan, Indonesia and Mali. The instructor uses both authentic and replica puppets for this entertaining and educational hands-on presentation. Meets Georgia QCC/Performance Standards. (List available upon request.) Please call 404.881.5136 to schedule.
Fee: $250 for up to 90 minutes, plus mileage. Groups only.
Available on Mondays.

Performances

At present, the Center for Puppetry Arts does not tour any of its performances. However, if you would like to bring a professional puppeteer to your school, home or special event, you may consult the Puppetry Yellow Pages: A Resource Guide to Professional Services by UNIMA-USA. The Puppetry Yellow Pages is a service of the US division of the international puppetry organization, Union Internationale de la Marionnette (UNIMA-USA).
