by Hobey Ford's Golden Rod Puppets, Weaverville, NC 2009-10 Family Series What happens to the Chumash tribe of Santa Cruz Island in southern California when they run out of room on their island? Have you heard of Little Coqui? He's a little tree frog from Puerto Rico who trains very hard, but is he really fast enough to win a race against all the animals on the island? And, what could make the Troll that guards the bridge and the Three Billy Goats Gruff learn to work together for the greater good? Using shadow puppets (flat puppets against a screen which create a black-and-white film-like quality), solo puppeteer Hobey Ford answers these questions, then presents a finale starring his trademark Peepers Puppets, which turn the bare hand into a myriad of creatures, and his famous beautifully carved foam animal creatures, the Foamies.
